The world of Abarth Specialties was also represented in Frankfurt by the 695 Maserati Edition, a concentrate of sportiness, class and performance produced by Abarth and Maserati. The exhibited car was “dressed” with a new sophisticated “Record Grey” livery added to “Pontevecchio Burgundy”. In addition to the new metallic paint finish, the Abarth 695 Maserati Edition on display in Frankfurt featured a black hood and 17″ Neptune bright black wheels.
A limited edition of an exclusive project: a special limited edition of only 49 cars with a special ‘Record Grey’ colour to celebrate the establishment of the Abarth brand that took place in 1949. For this reason, special cars were identified by a plate placed inside the car with sequential numbers from 1 to 49.
In addition, the Abarth and Maserati brands share many values, such as attention to detail, elegance and a passion for performance and sportiness. The Abarth 695 Maserati Edition is the result of this relationship. It is the ultimate expression of elegance combined with the comfort of a GranTurismo, but with the handling of a car fit to go out on the road every day.
Elegancy and power
After its debut at the Paris International Motor Show in 2012, the Abarth 695 Maserati Edition made lovers of compact sports cars dream. The merit is the 1.4 Turbo T-Jet 16v engine tuned to develop 180 hp and combined with the Abarth Competizione manual gearbox with electric drive and steering wheel controls. In addition, the car reinforced the driving and braking system: Brembo 305 mm detachable brake discs with four-piston fixed calipers and special Koni shock absorbers that guaranteed performance in total safety. And then there was the dual-mode variable backpressure exhaust, designed to improve engine performance and deliver inspiring sound at over 3,000 rpm.
Interiors that demonstrate attention to detail and sportsmanship
The customization was just as complete on the inside. The interiors showed both the attention to detail and sportiness that characterizes the Abarth and Maserati brands, starting with the seats upholstered entirely in sand beige leather, with sporty yet elegant and comfortable single-layer upholstery strips, and with elegant details such as the number “695” printed on the headrest.
The dashboard and gearbox trim are finished with a special carbon lining with a matte finish, enhanced by the 695 logo. The black leather steering wheel with beige leather inserts. The gearbox controls on the same steering wheel, with the instrument panel manufactured specifically by the brand Jaeger. Other details enriched the interior, such as the aluminium pedals and sill plate and a plate with the car’s serial number, from 1 to 49.
As proof of its tourist vocation, the Abarth 695 Maserati Edition came standard with a Harman-built JBL Hi-Fi audio system, with 9 speakers and an 8-channel amplifier that provided 400W of total power.
Xenon headlamps with dipped and driving light functions for better light emission and excellent performance in all weather conditions. In fact, these devices provided three times the light intensity and lifetime of standard halogen headlights.
