O Modelo 38 estava dispon\u00edvel em onze estilos de carro\u00e7aria diferentes em tr\u00eas comprimentos de dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos diferentes, o mais longo dos quais (138 polegadas &#8211; 3505,2 mm) foi oferecido com uma carro\u00e7aria em phaeton de cinco passageiros que mediu um comprimento total maci\u00e7o de 179,25 polegadas &#8211; 4552,95 mm.<\/p>\n<p>O mais recente Junior Packard foi alimentado por um nov\u00edssimo L-head straight-six deslocando 415 polegadas c\u00fabicas &#8211; 6800 cm3 e desenvolvendo 60 cv, ou 38 ALAM cv (da\u00ed a nomenclatura do modelo). Equipado de s\u00e9rie com um p\u00e1ra-brisas basculante, luzes laterais e far\u00f3is el\u00e9ctricos, uma luz de aviso traseira el\u00e9ctrica\/de querosene, duas jantes extra desmont\u00e1veis, suporte de pneus traseiros e kit de ferramentas, o 38 foi tamb\u00e9m equipado com um novo painel de controlo de instrumentos montado na coluna de direc\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Em Fevereiro de 1913, a Packard actualizou a 38 numa forma mais desenvolvida para o ano do modelo de 1914 sob o nome de Modelo 1438. No total, foram constru\u00eddos 1.618 carros para 13 e 14, mas apenas uma pequena parte apresentou a carro\u00e7aria &#8220;phaeton&#8221; de cinco passageiros oferecida no chassis maci\u00e7o de 138 polegadas-3505,2 mm com dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos. Uma lista compilada por entusiastas de marquises contabiliza n\u00e3o mais do que quatro &#8220;phaetons&#8221; restantes, dos quais este carro \u00e9 o \u00fanico exemplo de primeira gera\u00e7\u00e3o do Modelo 1-38 de 1913 conhecido por sobreviver (os outros tr\u00eas s\u00e3o exemplos de continua\u00e7\u00e3o do Modelo 1438 constru\u00eddo em 1914).<\/p>\n<p>Photo: JOHN LLOYD
