Os modelos da s\u00e9rie Seventeen da Packard, introduzidos em Setembro de 1939, regressaram na linha dos modelos Six, Eight, Super Eight e Twelve. <\/p>\n

A s\u00e9rie Super Oito, composta pelos modelos 1703 e 1705, recebeu as maiores altera\u00e7\u00f5es em 1939. O n\u00famero de estilos de carro\u00e7aria Super Oito dispon\u00edveis foi reduzido em 1939 de 15 para apenas seis. <\/p>\n

Quatro estavam na dist\u00e2ncia entre eixos de 3 225,8 mil\u00edmetros e dois no chassi de 3 225,8 mil\u00edmetros. Os estilos de carro\u00e7aria 1703 consistiram num coup\u00e9 club, coup\u00e9 descapot\u00e1vel, coup\u00e9, touring e um sedan descapot\u00e1vel. A s\u00e9rie 1705 estava dispon\u00edvel como Touring Limousine e Touring Sedan. Os modelos personalizados deixaram de ser oferecidos.<\/p>\n

A energia veio de uma cabe\u00e7a de oito cilindros em forma de L que deslocou 5.243 cm3 e ofereceu 130 cavalos de pot\u00eancia. As cabe\u00e7as dos cilindros s\u00e3o agora de ferro fundido para maior durabilidade. A transmiss\u00e3o foi uma unidade de malha sincronizada seletiva de tr\u00eas engrenagens com controles de deslocamento montados na coluna. Os trav\u00f5es hidr\u00e1ulicos forneceram a pot\u00eancia de travagem. A compress\u00e3o e as rela\u00e7\u00f5es de transmiss\u00e3o dos eixos traseiros foram atualizadas em 1939.<\/p>\n

Mudan\u00e7as para 1939 inclu\u00eddo coluna montada mudan\u00e7as de marcha, novas lanternas traseiras e persianas do cap\u00f4 revisto. As op\u00e7\u00f5es inclu\u00edam um tac\u00f3metro, um overdrive e um dispositivo de fixa\u00e7\u00e3o de inclina\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Eles ofereceram no seu folheto Super Eight a frase “Para ti que queres um super carro”.<\/p>\n

Em 1939, a Packard produziu 3.962 c\u00f3pias do Super Eight. Como sempre, eles foram constru\u00eddos com os mais altos padr\u00f5es e foram um dos melhores carros americanos da era pr\u00e9-guerra.<\/p>\n
