La Packard Super Eight convertible Victoria est une voiture qui a une carrosserie convertible\/cabriolet \u00e0 2 portes avec un moteur situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l’avant qui d\u00e9livre la puissance aux roues arri\u00e8re. Le Packard Super Eight convertible Victoria est l’un des mod\u00e8les 1104 de Packard. Son moteur de 6,3 litres, \u00e0 soupapes lat\u00e9rales \u00e0 aspiration naturelle, est dot\u00e9 de huit cylindres en ligne dont la t\u00eate en L d\u00e9veloppe une puissance de 145 ch (108 kW) \u00e0 3 200 tr\/min. Le moteur fournit la puissance aux roues par l’interm\u00e9diaire d’une bo\u00eete de vitesses manuelle synchronis\u00e9e \u00e0 3 rapports. <\/p>\n

Les suspensions sont des ressorts \u00e0 lames avant et arri\u00e8re semi-elliptiques avec amortisseurs \u00e0 pression variable et freins m\u00e9caniques assist\u00e9s par d\u00e9pression \u00e0 tambour aux quatre roues. Son poids d\u00e9clar\u00e9 est de 2331 kg.<\/p>\n

Cette Packard a \u00e9t\u00e9 lib\u00e9r\u00e9e au prix de 3 640 $. Dans une maison de ventes aux ench\u00e8res, un Packard Super Eight Convertible Victoria de la collection de Richard et Linda Kughn a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis aux ench\u00e8res pour 225 500 $ en 2013.<\/p>\n

S\u00e9rie 11 de 1934 :<\/h2>\n

Pour beaucoup, le mod\u00e8le Packards de 1934, que l’usine surnomme la onzi\u00e8me s\u00e9rie, repr\u00e9sente l’apog\u00e9e des efforts de l’entreprise avant la guerre. Il s’agit des derniers mod\u00e8les avec des ailes ouvertes traditionnelles, bien qu’elles soient douces, et du radiateur vertical qui a fait la renomm\u00e9e de l’entreprise. Les livres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9crits uniquement sur ce mod\u00e8le Packard, et il est largement consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l’une des plus belles voitures de s\u00e9rie de l’\u00e2ge classique.<\/p>\n

La onzi\u00e8me s\u00e9rie Packard propos\u00e9e ici a un empattement \u00e9norme de 3.604 mm, ch\u00e2ssis 1104 Super Eight avec pneus 7,50×17 en forme de ballon, isolant les passagers de tous les nids de poule sauf les pires. Un levier de commande de suspension permet au conducteur d’ajuster la r\u00e9sistance des amortisseurs hydrauliques de doux et rembourr\u00e9s \u00e0 une fermet\u00e9 qui comprime le roulement et fournit une vraie sensation de route. Sous le capot, un r\u00e9gulateur surveille et contr\u00f4le la temp\u00e9rature de l’huile, ce qui permet d’utiliser le m\u00eame lubrifiant de viscosit\u00e9 toute l’ann\u00e9e. Le premier filtre \u00e0 huile \u00e0 passage int\u00e9gral, une pompe plus grosse et un r\u00e9gulateur de pression d’huile ont permis d’assurer un fonctionnement aussi fluide que possible.<\/p>\n

L’ext\u00e9rieur montre l’attention artistique au d\u00e9tail qui a fait la r\u00e9putation de Packards, avec l’angle du bo\u00eetier de radiateur en V imitant les lentilles des phares et les feux de stationnement Packard Twelve. Au centre du tableau de bord se trouve l’embl\u00e8me de Packard, entour\u00e9 de la m\u00eame forme iconique.<\/p>\n

L’int\u00e9rieur en cuir tann\u00e9 se distingue par ses riches garnitures en bois, un panneau de commande de six calibres et deux bo\u00eetes \u00e0 gants plac\u00e9es \u00e0 chaque extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de la planche de bois. Les tapis de laine de velours coup\u00e9 compl\u00e8tent la sensation d’\u00eatre entour\u00e9 par les meilleurs mat\u00e9riaux.<\/p>\n

L’impression g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de cette Packard est celle d’une v\u00e9ritable \u00e9l\u00e9gance. Il ne crie pas \u00ab\u00a0regardez-moi\u00a0\u00bb comme le font certains classiques extravagants, parce que vous n’avez tout simplement pas \u00e0 le faire. Ses lignes, ses couleurs et ses accents attirent automatiquement l’attention, et l’harmonie agr\u00e9able de l’ensemble du v\u00e9hicule, ainsi que le savoir-faire artisanal \u00e9vident qui a pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 \u00e0 sa cr\u00e9ation, en font plus qu’une voiture classique tr\u00e8s recherch\u00e9e : c’est une v\u00e9ritable \u0153uvre d’art.<\/p>\n
