La XK120 lui a \u00e9videmment vol\u00e9 la vedette. Toutefois, la Mark V surpassa les ventes de la XK120 avec de pr\u00e8s de 5 000 voitures vendues par an, contre 2 000 pour la XK120.<\/p>\n<h2>Moteurs<\/h2>\n<p>Alors que la XK120 avait un nouveau moteur XK \u00e0 arbres \u00e0 cames en t\u00eate, la Mark V conserva la transmission de 1946-48, y compris les moteurs \u00e0 soupape en t\u00eate \u00e0 poussoirs de six cylindres en ligne de 2 \u00bd L et 3 \u00bd L, produits par Jaguar depuis 1946, que la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 avait achet\u00e9 \u00e0 la Standard Motor Company avant la guerre, et les bo\u00eetes quatre vitesses \u00e0 r\u00e9ducteur unique produites par Jaguar et Moss Gear Company of Birmingham. Le moteur Standard d&rsquo;un litre et demi utilis\u00e9 dans les mod\u00e8les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 propos\u00e9 sur la Mark V. La puissance de sortie revendiqu\u00e9e \u00e9tait de 104 ch (78 kW) pour le 2 664 cm3 et 126 ch (94 kW) pour le plus populaire 3.486 cm3. Le ch\u00e2ssis \u00e9tait neuf disposait desuspensions avant ind\u00e9pendantes, double triangulation et avec barre de torsion, un arrangement qui sera utilis\u00e9 par Jaguar dans de nombreux v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 venir.
